Also with Summon Spirits I do not need to stand by them, they can be anywhere I am at once.

Are you using them instead of the minion wall?
If so, then I guess you could run Spawning.
If on the other hand you are just running them for damage, I'd go with no Spawning and not even AoU. There is absolutely no need for it in NM.

Even though it is overkill in NM, I would still recommend putting points into communing over spawning for a spirit spammer. If you need your spirits to tank better, bring AoU, otherwise bring other spirits in communing. Having points in communing allows you both options of defense vs offense and how you want to balance them.

Oh, I though putting points in Spawning was an overkill (and not in Com). Well, as much as investing into something useless can be an overkill.
When I run a spammer I normally go with 14 in Chan and 13 in Com. In NM or HM. With no AoU.

I believe I have mentioned that the last three skills are purposely for overkill and precautions to prevent my Legendary Survivor to be Ritualist from getting spiked without a quick means of healing. As for them being overkill, I agree, I also agree that I have two free PvE spots that i would like to fill, but until I become more experience --and judging from the positive to neutral feedback I've been receiving-- I'll be running this build.

You want to prevent getting spiked?
Go monk secondary or have one of your heroes go monk secondary and go PS or use a bonder - the necro hero is perfect for this.
Because currently your plan on preventing getting spiked consists of:
1. pulling sprits to you with SS. 1/4 sec + 3/4 sec aftercast
2. Feasting on them. 1/4 sec
And after you did that, the foes lost their priority targets - which means players become the more likely targets.
So Feast wouldn't the best option for spike prevention.
Now as far as Spawning alone goes - I don't see it being worth it. The buff to spirits alone made them much more durable so outside of solo farming builds - there is still no reason for Spawning.
But at the end of the day, it's your survivor so it would be best to use what you feel comfortable with. It's just my view that Restoration would offer you options that will help you prevent getting to a place where you'd need that 400-party wide heal.
